Ecole d’été ISL2024 SUMMER SCHOOL, Aussois, 4-6 juillet 2024

We would like to draw your attention on the ISL2024 SUMMER SCHOOL

to be held in the beautiful mountain village of Aussois (alt. 1500 m). Aussois is located above Modane (Maurienne Valley), at the border of the National Park of Vanoise.
The school intends to provide with post-graduate (master) and doctoral (PhD and post-doc) students an overview on the fundamentals in slope engineering. This is also an excellent opportunity for the attendees to meet and exchange before the symposium, and become active members of the forthcoming landslides community.

A panel of specialists have been invited to cover most of the related topics, from hazard analysis to risk mitigation. Over a two-day format, standard in-room sessions will alternate with a half-day excursion to visit a famous landslide located near Aussois. You can download the program via this link : https://www.backoffice.inviteo.com/upload/compte205/Image/ISL2024ProgrammeSummerSchool.pdf

All the attendees will be accommodated at the Paul Lengevin CNRS center, that offers an all-inclusive format. Interactive periods have been scheduled in the program, in order to facilitate the global discussion between all the participants, together with the invited lecturers.

All participants are expected to join Aussois on Thursday 04th evening by their own. Please note that due to the rockfall event occurred last August in Maurienne Valley, the railway connection between Chambéry and Aussois is disrupted at least until end of 2024. Aussois should therefore be joined from France by car or bus. The summer school will end on Saturday 06th evening with a special diner. A bus transfer will be set up on Sunday morning to get Chambéry.
